Hold your breath. The water is coming down to comfortable fishing levels.
lastchanceParticipantStayed until dark last night on the upper river. Sparse risers and I guess the spinner fall didn’t happen until dark. There wasn’t many bugs in the air, but I did see some grey foxes, Cahills, Olives, some kind of caddis, sulfurs, and even saw a few big carpenter ants that had fallen into the drink.
lastchanceParticipantI haven’t been fishing since Sunday so, good luck. The water was very high and fast last Saturday, but I managed a few on Sulfur duns.
lastchanceParticipantNever actually had the good days I normally have with the Grannom hatch. I guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Still I had a good time, caught a few, and was out on the river with some buddies. The best is yet to come.
lastchanceParticipantI hope it doesn’t happen with this high water. Will that have anything to do with the hatch?
lastchanceParticipantFished from 10 to 3 PM today. I saw midges but no black stoneflies. The water is a nice color, but it’s flowing fast and deep. I was fishing, the weather was great so it was a win for me.
lastchanceParticipantGood question. I’d be interested knowing that myself.
lastchanceParticipantIs that a spent wing that lies on the surface and simulates fluttering?
Thanks, lastchanceParticipantI missed this comment. I’m not sure if the fish are done spawning. But, I just wanted to say I saw a lot of spawning beds at the gorge in certain areas about 2 weeks ago.
lastchanceParticipantSounds like we lucked out with his resignation.
