solid hatch on middle river. fish were on skittering caddis. twitching is a good approach
jcrModeratorgood hatch on the lower river. However, front moving through and the cold air kept most of the fish down. They did feed on wets. Expected more action today
jcrModeratorThey just started getting going in some locations. Now the snow and record cold evening temps this weekend will probably shut them down. The waiting continues.
jcrModeratorheavy olives around 1PM and again at 3:30-5 (rain poured down and left) at pemberton
jcrModeratoryou are welcome.
jcrModeratorJust as it probably got “fishable”, the latest rain came through.
jcrModeratorsulfurs heavy last night. Started at 6 and were heavy by 7. A good hour and half for fishing heaven
jcrModeratorsomeone please tell the trout that the grannoms are not poisonous this year and they can eat them. I think they are so late they gave up on them.
jcrModeratorI would be concerned that the black CDC will blend with the black body, not providing enough contrast. Could look like one large profile to the fish
jcrModeratorNice ties. I like that you mixed yellow in with your black dubbing giving the body a speckled look like the Gs on the J. I do the same, recommended by Bill. I use a lighter CDC than the black you used. Natural CDC or a darker tan. This doesn’t mean black won’t work.
jcrModeratorBTW nice ties. AND I’m impressed with your ability to take great photos of your flies.

I don’t have 10 year data, but my correlation is that they emerge 1-2 day later than they do on lower spring creekjcrModerator -
