    solid hatch on middle river. fish were on skittering caddis. twitching is a good approach

    good hatch on the lower river. However, front moving through and the cold air kept most of the fish down. They did feed on wets. Expected more action today

    They just started getting going in some locations. Now the snow and record cold evening temps this weekend will probably shut them down. The waiting continues.

    sulfurs heavy last night. Started at 6 and were heavy by 7. A good hour and half for fishing heaven

    someone please tell the trout that the grannoms are not poisonous this year and they can eat them. I think they are so late they gave up on them.

    I would be concerned that the black CDC will blend with the black body, not providing enough contrast. Could look like one large profile to the fish

    Nice ties. I like that you mixed yellow in with your black dubbing giving the body a speckled look like the Gs on the J. I do the same, recommended by Bill. I use a lighter CDC than the black you used. Natural CDC or a darker tan. This doesn’t mean black won’t work.

    I don’t have 10 year data, but my correlation is that they emerge 1-2 day later than they do on lower spring creek
