Big Sulphur is slowly taking over the fast water, their favorite habitat, Dorothea rules the long flats, like the Barree pool and below Greene Hills.
Comparadun33ParticipantBlizzards of small Sulphurs night before last, fish were on emergers big time, but you needed a twitch. Great weekend for Huntingdon County, tons of guys enjoying the river and tons of other guys at the annual Dirt Fest mountain biking event, plus the lake will be another popular destination. Great place to live.
Comparadun33ParticipantAs Bill mentioned, duplicate the ribbing on the abdomens of your nymphs
Comparadun33ParticipantSeveral shots or more of each group/groups/nymphs
Comparadun33ParticipantMenu for Little “J” Browns.
Comparadun33ParticipantHope I am wrong but we could have a poor Sulphur season this year, could be that tons of flys hatched at night during the unusual heat wave we had??
Comparadun33ParticipantComparadun33ParticipantRejoice there are some Green Caddis larve here, Also note that wing pads are not necessarily dark, as we have been taught to look for, that plus there is some”HULA” movement. PLACE YOUR BETS pick the day.
Comparadun33ParticipantBe patient, wait for clear focus, These are todays nyumphs taken about 3:30 May 6th, lower river!
PLACE YOUR BETS! Lets here you all pick the day of emergence?
I am sticking with May 8th – 10th?!
Comparadun33ParticipantStewart, that is from another year, I should have stated that, I was on the river for a couple hours today, fish were on top but taking something very very small, Sulfers/Sulphurs, soon.
Comparadun33ParticipantAre we lucky or what, such a beautiful river!
Comparadun33ParticipantYes & Yes Bill that is Invaria/Rotunda, they seem to be nearly as abundant now as the small Sulphur?
