Still seeing afternoon baetis emergence. Starts around 2:30 ends by 5PM. The bugs being taken are size 22, very dark bodies (almost black with a little olive tinge). Wings are dark grey, almost black . Trout will not touch a size larger or a shade lighter…very selective on flat glides. We are fishing for telemetry candidates with nymphs at our 3 selected sites at least once a week. So far 11 browns have had transmitters inserted. We need 13 more. All 11 are tracking fine! Most effective nymphs are BH “Peeking caddis” size 16 and 14; BH Prince, size 14; Green caddis larvae, size 16 & 14. BH PTs 16,14 & 12s. Email me for more info on the telemetry study.
