June Meeting

The June meeting will be held Thursday June 14th at 7PM at the Edgewater Inn.  Topics include the upcoming brook trout habitat project on Kelso run June 27-30th (volunteers needed!) and the re-scheduled river bank clean up to be held Saturday July 21st.  Denny Johnson will update us on Juniata College’s  projects in the watershed. Hope to see you there.

May Meeting

April Meeting

The April meeting of the LJRA will be held Thursday April 12th at 7PM at the Edgewater Inn. Hope to see you there.

October Meeting has been rescheduled

The LJRA will meet on the third Thursday of the month, October 19th,  at 7:00PM at the Edgewater Inn.  

September Meeting

August Meeting

• Site selection and installation of temperature monitoring and other gauges on the lower river
• Discuss the engineer’s proposal for modifications to the paper mill dam in Tyrone to allow for fish passage up into the Bald Eagle, a tributary of the J. 
• Brook trout habitat improvement project project on Kelso Run . We’ll need volunteers. Scheduled for week of September 11th.
• Dennis Johnson of Juniata College will update us on the 2017 brown trout behavior study. 
• Report on the Director’s review of the LJRA ‘s goals and projects

May Meeting

 Greg Hoover, former Professor of Entomology, Penn State was the guest speaker at the May meeting. He presented a slide show  A Flyfisher’s Entomology- Some Conversations I’ve Overheard at Fly Shops Across the US.  

 

April Meeting

March Meeting

The  LJRA will meet March 9th 7 PM  at the Edgewater Inn. The meeting will be devoted to organizing our annual river bank clean-up to be held on Saturday, April 8th . Group leaders and those interested should attend.
